THE ELEVENTH DISTRICT

COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, UTAH & ARIZONA

DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE:

Anna Joy Watts
dawajwssm@hotmail.com AND/OR dawajwssm@yahoo.com

Our Eleventh District Representative is Anna Joy Watts, WFA member, of Lehi, Utah.
I found her biography in the 2005 edition of the OWL, page 5757.
Her biography says that her parents are Ronald Thomas and Jenalyn Wing Woffinden.

When Anna was thirteen years old, one of the grand aunts introduced her to genealogy research and family history.
She had been doing it ever since, and has published four books of family history and genealogy
- one for each of her grandparents and their ancestral lines. She now has to finish her parent's
and her children's scrapbooks and histories.

After graduating from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah,
she taught in secondary schools in Utah and Southern California for twelve years.
(Homemaking ED, Music Ed, and Choirs, American History, and Girls Physical Ed).

She married Donald A. Watts and they were blessed with three exceptional children;
Wendy Verlyn, Donald Thomas, and Nathan Edward. Their married children have given them five grandsons
with another grandchild on the way.

After her children were raised, Anna Joy again taught school for a few years and then
retired to enjoy her grandchildren and to organize
family reunions for both her Wing and Woffinden relatives. She has been a member of the WFA for many years,
and has attended a National Reunion at Cape Cod once accompanied by her daughter.

Anna's Wing lineage is Stephen Wing & Sarah Briggs

District 11 Report

Dear Wing Cousins,

I am sorry that I and my husband cannot attend the WFA Reunion this year in Chattanooga. We are serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nauvoo, Illinois. It is a living history location, and we are guides and performers here everyday for 18 months.

Before we traveled here three weeks ago, I took a Wing genealogy book, an 2010 Owl, and WFA membership applications to Harold (Hal, the Ladder Man) Wing and his children. Hopefully, they will motivated to sign up.

I will be submitting an article about his amazing life and business for the Owl this year.

Also, I have contacted my immediate family cousins about joining the WFA family. Most of them agreed to do so. Some do not have computers, so I'll need to mail them applications.

I've started a Wing Family Directory containing Names, addresses, and phone numbers of all the Wings that are descendants of  Mathias Wing of Pike County, Illinois. Especially those who came West to Utah and other western states and Canada. These I will also contact to join the WFA.

We hope you all have a wonderful time at the national reunion! We wish we could be there. Give our best regards to all there.

Anna Joy (& Donald)  11th District Rep.
