WE ARE IN NEED OF A DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE SIXTH DISTRICT.

PLEASE CONTACT HALFORD WING OR RAYMOND WING IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SERVING THE WFA IN THIS CAPACITY...
IT WOULD VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

TENNESSEE.....

The name Tennessee came from a Cherokee village in the region that is called "Tanasie."

>

MISSISSIPPI
Here, the character of the Old South can still be felt with the scents of the magnolia blossom floating on the warm, moist breeze.

ARKANSAS

The Quapaw Indians lived west of the Mississippi River and north of the Arkansas River. The Quapaws were known as the "downstream people". Perhaps influenced, by French pronunciation of Indian names, the Algonkian-speaking Indians from the Ohio Valley called the Quapaws "Arkansas" meaning "south wind".

ALABAMA....

Alabama introduced the Mardi Gras to the western world. The celebration is held on Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent begins.

LOUISIANA....

Louisiana is the only state with a large population of Cajuns, descendants of the Acadians who were driven out of Canada in the 1700s because they wouldn't pledge allegiance to the King of England.

According to my records, we have 26 members of the WFA that are from the Sixth District. I am certain we can do better than that!

Come on Wing family members that hail from Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas or Louisiana...we need you! You want to make a good showing for 2011 when you will be hosting the Annual Wing Reunion at Chattanooga!
