Comment: Nice to know there is a site for the Wing Family. Do hope as time goes on it will be more informative. My Grandmother was Rose Wing. She was one of 5 sisters born in Ohio she in Tontoganny near Bowling Green). The family migrated from western New York state in the early 1800s. Have been unable to find a link for Benjamin Wing born 1804 in either New York state or Vermont back to the Sandwich Wings. However I do recall conversation alledging that to be the case. Bens wife was Phebe (sp)Westcott.

Comment: Glad to see the website.Nice work.My wife,Geraldine,and I have been members since 91 or 92 I'm descended from Daniel,on my mother's side.My great grandmother's maiden name was Wing,and she grew up,and lived in East Otto,N.Y.She had a number ,and is listed in a 1914 Owl.There were a lot of Wings that lived in the E.Otto area around the turn of the century(the last one!)And into the 1950's.The area called Brooklyn,just outside of E.Otto,was sometimes referred to as Wingtown.I have a book Written by a man that grew up there in the 1930'sHis father was the pastor of the small Methodist church that the Wings attended.The church is still being used as a Methodist church.I believe the book is still available.The title is "A Boy and His Valley".

Comment: Just a little note to share my "Wing Lineage". I am the Daughter of Alvin Veral Wing (Don)and Marilyn Elaine Hanson-Wing. My Grandfather was Aubrey Earl Wing Senior, brn: 1904, Pagosa Springs, Colorado to unwed mother Pearl Wing, raised as her brother, not her son. I believe that his grandparents were Franklin Wing and Flora Winters. Grandpa Wing is now buried in Eugene Oregon at the West Lawn Memorial Park along with his daughter Mary Pearl Wing brn: 1935-1793 and his grandson Gerald Dean Allen (Jerry), Brn: 1958-1970. Grandpa Wing Married Lillian Bernice Francis in Idaho abt 1930, had 4 children, all deceased except Aubrey Earl wing Jr. alive and well living in Oregon with his wife of many years Marge. Grandpa Wing remarried Luella Jean Mooso abt 1948 having 2 more children, Robert Eugene Wing,and Marvin Leslie (Slick) Wing. Any one with any information regarding my father or grandfather would be greatly appreciated. Alot of the information I have on them came from my uncle Aubrey "Earl" Wing, which included that we are of French-Canadian Royalty as far back as 942, and migrated from Wales abt 1648, to Virginia he believes. I am also interested in locating 2 half brothers and a half sister that my daddy fathered in a previous marriage to Wilma Sinclair before his marriage to my mother. Daddy and Wilma had 4 children,3 boys and 1 girl, the eldest of which I do know and have for several years but have very little contact with since our fathers death in 1992, Alvin Veral (Scott) Wing Jr. who I last saw 2 summers ago in Eugene Oregon and who is a mirror image of our Dad, Scott assures me there is Stephen David Wing brn: 1958, Vicky Lynn Wing brn: 1957; and Dale or Dell Wing brn: 1959, apparently Dale was given up at birth while our daddy was in the Air Force and I don't believe he ever has seen Dale nor was he aware of the adoption until after the fact. I would like them to know of the wonderful father and Man our daddy was, and that they have 3 half sisters and 1 half brother and 9 nephews and 3 neices. and I will be having my 1st grand child late January 2001, Boy. His ancestor was Stephen Wing of Sandwich, MA, thus, mine also. I have just returned from a brief visit to Sandwich,MA where I visited The Wing Fort House. The caretaker was so helpful and friendly.
