The Southeast Georgia Wing Family met for their annual reunion on July 1, 2007 at the American Legion Post of Vidalia, Georgia with about 65 in attendance. This is the 83rd year that the family of John Franklin Elmore Wing has gathered. The reuons were once held on the banks of the Atamaha River, but for many years the descendants have enjoyed the coolness of an indoor meeting place to avoid the heat of a south Georgia July day.

A short business meeting was held with President Daniel Winge welcoming those attending. Minutes from the reunion of July 3, 2006 were read by secretary, Felix Moring, and approved. He also asked for addresses of Wing family members, so they could be contacted for the next reunion. Treasurer, Jimmy Winge, gave the financial report.

The oldest and youngest members in attendance were recognized. Lester Winge, the youngest son of John Franklin Elmore Wing and the only survivor of his children, at the age of 91, was the oldest attendee and a viable part of the reunion. Many of his descendnats were there to represent his family branch. The youngest member of the family attending was Maddox Allen Jenkins, 11 months old, and great, great, grandson of Lester. Descendants from other children of John Franklin Elmore Wing were those of Clayton, Press, Cleveland and Effie.

Officers for 2008 were re-elected: President, Daniel Winge; Vice-President, Margaret Winge; Secretary, Felix Moring; and Treasurer, Jimmy Wing.+

Following the business meeting and the group picture, everyone enjoyed the delicious covered dish meal and visiting with family members. All are looking forward to the reunion next year on the first Sunday in July
