FROM THE 2006 EDITION OF THE OWL
The Wing Family of America Eighth District met Saturday, July 22, 2006. It was the first time the Eighth District had met in several years. The meeting was held at the home of our current District Representative, James Byrk, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Those in attendance were District Rep. James Byrk and Gerry Byrk from Plattsmouth, NB; District Secretary Suzane Kolesik, Andy, Drew, Elizabeth and Grace Kolesik from Plattsmouth, NB; Kent and Wanda Reece from Waterloo, Iowa; Christine and Brianna Kolesik from Plattsmouth, NB; Patsy and Marvin Loschen from Lexington, NB; and Norma and Rex Robison from Cozad, NB. Since this was the first meeting in a while it was kept informal and our time together was spent getting reacquainted. People started arriving around 10 o'clock in the morning. Everyone was signed in, given name tags and entered into a drawing. Everyone enjoyed lunch and good conversation. Following lunch members gathered for a photo session. The group then gathered to view memorabilia brought by Patsy Loschen. James Byrk filled in areas with additional information he acquired throughout the years. Before the reunion gathering came to a close a name was picked from the drawing, and Kent Reece was the winner. He won a commemorative Cup Plate in honor of the Wing Family of America, Inc. 75th birthday. Families of District Eight enjoyed a good time together, and agreed that holding the reunion at Byrk's home made the event extra special. |
