FROM THE 2007 EDITION OF THE OWL

The Rocky Mountain Wing Reunion was held August 4, 2007 in Denver, Colorado at the home of Tom and Melinda Kirsh. The minutes of the meeting were read. There was no new or old business to attend to.

News shared: Joan Perkins is having surgery on her neck and Jerry provided a card for everyone to sign for her. The following High School Graduates were recognized with Congratulations: Carl, Amber and Nick Dennison, Jarret Arnold. There were no new babies born since the last reunion. There was one death, Eileen Talmage.

The 2007 Officers will remain the same for the ensuing year. Ron and Lori Wing will host the next reunion on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Olathe, Colorado. Directions will be sent out in May of 2008. Jerry reminded families about the Wing Family Website, and the possibility of posting the time and place of the next reunion on the site. The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m. and the White Elephant Auction began.

Below is a list ofitems that were auctioned and what they went for. All money raised from this auction will go to the Wing Fort House.

The Items Auctioned: Napkins and table runner, shells, maple syrup from Vermont, wine, pot holders, stone scuptures, books and CDs, original oil painting by Linda Clements. We raised a total of $273.75. We also took up a collection to offset the cost of the wonderful lunch that was provided by the Kirsh family. After paying for the lunch we had money left over to donate to the Fort House. For 2007 we are donating a total of $340.00 to the Wing Fort House.

FROM THE 2006 EDITION OF THE OWL

The Rocky Mountain Wing Reunion was held August 5, 2006. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. The minutes from last year were read and approved.

New births: Lonnie Wing's daughter, Leia, has given him twin grandsons (Hunter and Ethan) born 9/09/05. Marilyn Dietz's daughter, Joy, gave birth to daughters, Mikayla and Brook. Diana Harm's granddaughter, Tasha, had a boy, Tobin.

Deaths reported" Robert Merl Wing, Wanda Marie Borwin, Dwight Ara Wing. all were children of Merl Kies Wing. Garry Felzien, son of Eileen E. Wing Talmage.

Other News: Morgan Wing has graduated from High School, Aaron Wing graduated from the University of Colorado and has moved with his family to Santa Cruz, CA. Todd and Tammy's son, Jarrett Arnold, has join the National Guard.

New Officers: Our new President is Lonnie Wing; Vice President, Tony Clements; Secretary and Treasurer, Teresa Crowner and Linda Clements. Lonnie Wing reported on Website links for Wings in England who may be related and reported that their ancestors were Danish Vikings.

An Auction was held at this reunion to raise money for the Wing Fort House: Nine grab bags of really cool rocks from the collection of Bob and Norma Wing brought $5.00 each, totaling $45.00. three mounted sea shells collected $21.00; a wood moose picture frame $7.00; a portable stove $5.00; an original water color by Linda Clements collected $30.00 and three nail and bolt puzzles $1.00; totaling $111.00.

Donations totaling $178.00 were collected to help defray the cost of the reunion. $130.00 of the total went to the Host; $48 of the total went to the Fort House along with the $111.00 from the auction totaling $159.00 that will go to the Wing Fort House Restoration.

The meeting was adjourned.
