Web site needs more information on all branches of Wing family. I need children of Jehu Lowery Wing and Mary Rebecca Johnson, and can not find but two listed. Know there were more as my great grandmother was a child of theirs and she is not listed on any of the charts I have found anywhere. Can anyone help?

My Husband Daniel Ellsworth Wing is a descendent of The Rev John Odlin Wing. My Husbands father Elmer GlenWood Wing was from the Gardiner area His father was elmer Ellsworth Wing.
I am trying to update my family history, combining research from several members and many slips of paper over the years. In a booklet called Brown-Stedwell Genealogy, I find a reference to Content Wing born June 8, 1759 who married Roger Stedwell April 10, 1780. They would, I believe, be great-great-great....grandparents of mine. I was hoping to find a chart of listing of her here, but do not see one. I will keep looking, but if anyone has a notation of her, I would appreciate very much your email. Thank you.

My stepfather came across a bunch of old Wing family photos through his salvage busness, taken in the 1800's to early 1900's. A couple of names are Harry Wing, died jan. 1902. Sarah B. Wing, died May 23, 1889. Several of the pictures appear to be from Vermont, and possibly from Ohio. My stepfather will mail these to whoever can claim these people as possible ancestors. I can provide more names from other photos if needed.

My ggg grandmother is Emiline Wing who married Lewis (Louis) Brown in 1843/44. Her mother was Rhetta Wing. Emiline had two brothers; Orrin (b. 1819) and Lyman Wing. 1855 census places the family in Big Flats, Chemung, NY. Household included: Lewis Brown-age 34, Emiline Wing-age 29, and their children: Lyman Brown-age 10, Hector Brown-age 8, Mary Jane Brown-age 6, Franklin Brown-age 3. Also included is Pluma Griswold-age 18 (neice). Lyman Brown married Mary Wolfe. Orrin Wing(born 1819) married Mariah (b.1821 in NJ). Rhetta Wing had lived in CT. Came to Chemung Co in 1849. Franklin Brown (my gg grandfather-born 1852)d 27 April 1920, and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY. He married Jolina Ann Kennedy (1859-1910).I am a beginner in genealogy, and want to find out more about the family history. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.

As an Army brat with no real home town of origin, until my father retired in 1977 from the Military, it's been a curiosity recently where our roots originated. My father, John Raymond Wing, was born and raised in Dayton, Kentucky. He had a very successful high school sports career and then played at West Point in the 50s. He and my mom currently reside in Alpine, CA, (San Diego County).

My Mom is a Wing, From Mt. Pleasant Mich. My grandparents have an archive from that City that says our descendents have been in NY since the mid 1600's, I guess that makes us part of the family eh?
My mother was a Wing who migrated to the USA in 1946. She met my Dad in England during the war. I believe one of the Rev. Wing's sons went back to England. Is this true? I would love to trace my Wings to the ones who came to America in the 1600's. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks!

I have a friend who is a Wing Descendant. I am going to be in the Boston area Sept. 26 - Oct 16 and would like to visit the museum. I will not be able to get down to Sandwich before the 30th however. I've been looking for driving directions from Woburn, MA, but I do not have an exact address for the museum. If someone could relay the address info before the 26th, I would greatly appreciate it. Wow! It is so nice to find all this info. I have been researching my family for a long time and it is nice to know I have it right! Can't wait to hear from more Wings. I descend through David & Lucy Washburn Wing. They settled in western NY, which is where I grew up. There is a family home ther that has been continually occupied for almost 200 years. I grew up in the house. Any info people have on my line I would appreciate and I would also be willing to share what I have with others. I live near Fort Wayne, IN where one of the best research libraries in the country is! Keep up th great work on the site!

I am a descendant of Joseph Wing and Jerusha Mayhew. Their dtr Jane married John West and they came down to New Jersey where dtr Jerusha West married into another huge Quaker family, the Corlies. I enjoyed seeing the house at Sandwich and it was my first visit to Cape Cod. I loved it and the tour was great.! Bought a mug and stationary. May see you in Sacto as its not far from here.

Adam,my youngest,has graduated Summa Cume Laude and Phi Beta Kappa,from Union College,where he was a member of Chi Psi fraternity, and also the baccalaureate graduation speaker. He was featured twice on the front page of the Albany-Times Union newspaper for turning down a $60+ Wall Street position, to spend a year with Americorps stationed at McClellan in Sacramento. He has previously traveled all over the world,and I believe by his 'following' will probably emulate my Cleveland side,into politics. He is in Boston this summer working on economic policy.

Looks like I hit the Wing family jackpot! My mother Georganna)father was Roy Lewis Wing (died 1964). Roys' father was Frank Ennis Wing. Well, the history goes back to good ol'Godfriedus! All I ever heard growing up was that I really need to travel to Pardeeville WI. to meet all those relatives. Someday, I will. Just want to say that my grandfather Roy was just a glimmer of a memory. I was only 3 yrs old when I stepped on his toe...he howled out (scared me) as if I weighed 300 pounds. What a sense of humor. My mother always said he normaly was a quite man, very patient, loved people in the house (just about take in anyone and get them fed...his italian-american wife (Elizabeth) could cook up a storm! One thing left to mention...my mother told me she donated a very old copper tuba/baratone horn to the "Wing" museum. I contacted the Pardeeville libary to ask them if it is in thier mini-libary museum...if not it should be in your historical museum?? Please let me know...I grew up seeing that horn in our basement. It was very beat up and crushed lenthwise. Story was that one of the Wings was playing the thing (I'm convinced the Wing was in the Pardeeville band) and passed out (died??) playing the thing. Our Chase family line connection originates in Sandwich, MA.; it includes the Wing, Swift, Allen, Cahoon & Handy families. They end up in Rochester, MA in the 1800's and some members are buried at Central Cemetary in Middleboro, MA. Our Fay family line connection with the Wing family has not been researched adequately. If you have information relative to Albin Wing, supposedly killed in an industrial accident in Goshen, MA in the late 1800's, married to Lucinda with a daughter, Cora Angelina Wing, who married John Hammond Fay abt 1889, please contact me with information. I was contacted by Mary Ann (Wing) Green of Republic, MO 65738 in 1997. She was arranging a visit to the UK through Carlson Wagonlit Travel starting October 1 1997. I met some of the group along with other English Wing's that Mary Ann had managed to contact at their hotel in The Strand, London. Unfortunately I had little time due to work committments. However,it did start me off on researching my family tree here in the UK. At this time I have managed to get back to the early 1800's. I have been a member of the Wing Family of America Inc. My 93 year old mother, Lila Wing Kishbaugh is coming with my husband and I to the Reunion. We are of the line of John. Mother and my father, Theodore Kishbaugh lived in Hamden, Ct. from about 1958-1967. They attended several Wing Reunions. Perhaps someone coming to the Reunion will know my mother. We have also been to several regional ones in California. I just finished reading Beverly Vorpahl's book, "Goody Wing". It was fabulous and made me more aware of our rich family heritage.

Nice site. I have been trying to confirm who the parents were of Elizabeth Wing born 12/20/1750 in Sandwich. She married Joseph Freeman August 18, 1768 in Sandwich, MA, son of Thomas Freeman and Kezia Hoxie. They left Mass and went to adventually settled in Leeds, ME where they are buried at West Leeds Cemetery. Will be traveling to Sandwich this summer, but would like some leads before going. Thanks.

My Mother and I had planned on going up this summer for her history. She is one of 4 children born to Elingsworth Monroe Wing. Unfortunately this was too late for her, she just died on March 20th with a brain tumor. My daughter and I are interested in history and for several years I have thought of searching for my geology. (Fortunately my Aunt has been doing this for years and can fill in several blanks.) I hope to make it up and learn.

Wing, Grandson/son of Richard Sherman Wing of the Woodlands, TX (deceased) has been offered and will accept an appointment to the US Naval Academy for the class of 2006. Andrew is currently completing his freshman year in the honors program for Architecture @ TX A&M, College Station, TX. Andrew's appointment ceremony will be on the deck of the USS Texas @ San Jacinto Battle Monument on May 18, 2002 on the 90th Anniversary of the USS Texas launching from the yard where she was built.

My gggrandmother was Louisa Wing Grout, the daughter of Samuel S. and Lucinda George Wing, of Livermore, Maine. I am trying to trace my Wing line back to the reverend John Wing of Sandwich. I visit Maine each summer and wish to meet with members of the Wing family who are in my line.
I remember first contact when I was a teenager. My father Douglas Ralph Weylie received a letter telling us how we fit into the family. Now 35 years later I find that my mother has a membership and loaned my a copy of the newsletter. I would come to the reunion but will have just arrived home from UK at that time. I know that my mother has sent a notice of my father death in 1991 and that you have a record of my children and nieces and nephews. I wonder if you have their marriages and children recorded. I'll be glad to up date your information on this.

I've been tracing my family tree(s) for the past 5 years but just recently discovered thatI am a descendant of John and Deborah (Bachiler) Wing through their son Stephen and his second wife Sarah Briggs. By joining the Wing mailing list at Rootsweb I learned of Wing Family of America Inc. I am so thrilled to have found out about my Wing ancestry and this organization.I was also thrilled to learn that the Wing house in Sandwich is still standing. I try to make at least one trip or more during each summer to Massachusetts for genealogical purposes since I have about 2 dozen family lines that I'm descended from in ealy Massachusetts. I'm planning on being in Lexington,MA in August and hope to include both Plymouth Plantation and the Wing house in Sandwich if possible on that trip.I'm a native Vermonter but back in the late 70's I lived briefly on Cape Cod (East Dennis).I wished I'd know I was a Wing descendant back then....well better late than never I guess. I'm looking forward to learning all that I can about my Wing lineage as well as to the completion of this website. Hello Wings. My father was Eugene Forrest Wing, born in either Needles or Reedly CA in 1919. He was the youngest of siblings George and Esther. Their father was George Wing, who I believe was one of the founding fathers of Eureka, CA in mid-late 1800's. I was told he was a dentist/storekeeper. Their mother was Elizbeth (Shoaf) Wing. I am a member of the Texas delegation and all my sisters and brother are coming for the June reunion. In fact, I am getting together all of my first cousins for a reunion at your reunion. I am very pleased to be related to a family with such deep roots in the founding of this country,thru my maternal grandmother. I had gleened the content for the pp presentation from information in the Owl,and hope it not to be fundamentally inacurate. If any of it is,I presume that someone with more knowledge will see that it is corrected. I would like to see a searchable data base here where we could download not only family research, but the miriad of names by state. I would also like to see lapel pins with the Wing(logo)for fundraising purposes,as well as possible identification when traveling. I have a couple of books of sermons by the Rev John Wing that he preached in about 1621. I loaned one to a friend and never got it back. My grandfather is Augustus Charles Wing (Rhodes) he was adopted by the Rhodes family. Although we do know his biological parents names and they are Charles Wing and Anna Denny Wing. If anyone has any information about him or if he has any siblings please let me know. My other Wing acestoress is Deborah Wing born 1687, Harwich, Barnstable, MA. She married George Weeks, the son of Ammiel Weeks & Abigal Trescott. Deborah was the daughter of Ananias Wing & Hannah Tilton. Both of the above lines came down to my Grandmother Grace Mildred Robbins, who was born 1876 in Chatham, MA.
