Calling All WFA Members!

We need your skills and experience!

The WFA relies on its members to keep it running smoothly. Our Board and Committee members volunteer their time to maintain our properties, curate our precious items and documents, publish the OWL and Window on the Wings and oversee our annual reunion.

We invite you to share your skills and expertise to help us with the following positions:

Communications Committee Member: The Communications Committee is responsible for publishing the quarterly newsletter. Members create a theme for the upcoming newsletter and write stories appropriate to the theme. We meet once a month (by zoom).  If you enjoy researching and writing, we invite you to join us. Donor Database: Past Perfect, the database we are using to catalog all the historical items and documents the WFA owns, also has a donor database. If you are familiar with databases, we could use your help inputting donor names and other data. For more information, please contact Cyndy Doherty at vicepresident@wingfamily.org

The OWL: We need help with compiling obituaries. Must have experience with simple internet searches. Must be able to copy and paste text, photos and URLs into an MS Word document and mail them as an attachment to the editor. Knowledge of editing photos and researching the deceased’s ancestry back to Reverend John is helpful but not necessary. For more information contact Elizabeth Fulford at owleditor@wingfamily.org

Social Media:  If you enjoy using Facebook and Instagram, you’ll enjoy this job. We are looking for volunteers to assist with content about Wing family history for Facebook/Instagram posting. Our plan is to share Wing Family photos (could be people, places, items belonging to Wings) and the associated history. You don’t have to be an expert on all things Wing or even know how to post on either platform as our WFA Webmaster will handle that aspect.
