Wing Fort House

The Wing Fort House is the oldest house in New England built and occupied by the same family for over three centuries.

Originally built circa 1641 as a single cell dwelling, it was purchased by Stephen Wing in 1646 and his descendants added to its footprint, culminating in the present two-story colonial house. When the Wing Family of America (WFA) purchased the Fort House in 1942 from the last occupant Cora Wing, the house did not have electricity, modern heating or indoor plumbing and remains so to this day.

Tour dates to be announced. If you are a WFA member looking for an off season tour, contact Christina at curator@wingfamily.org.
