WFA President’s Message, May 2024

I greet you with hopes that warm spring days and beautiful blooms have arrived.  I do also recognize that we have new cousin members located in Australia and are probably getting ready for winter! 

This is my favorite time of year, longer daylight hours, watching all of the flowers come out, hearing birds return to our area, and getting our garden beds ready for planting.  It also means time to make plans to visit Sandwich this year for our annual reunion.  If you have not ever been to a reunion or it has been a while, please come this year.  The Fort House has been changed inside and out and our Family History Museum has wonderful exhibits to visit.  And Sandwich and the Cape Cod area is a great vacation place.  Even if you are not a member of WFA please come and find out more about the family.

WFA ANNUAL MEETING AND REUNION

The WFA Annual membership meeting will be held on June 22, 2024 at 10 AM (EDT), at the Wing Family History Museum, Sandwich, MA and on Zoom.  This meeting is being held during the 2024 WFA Annual Reunion which is June 21-23, 2024, in Sandwich.

The WFA Reunion schedule and registration materials are available on our website. https://www.wingfamily.org/reunion  I encourage you to come to Sandwich to enjoy meeting and visiting with your Wing cousins.  While there you can also visit the recently redecorated Fort House and see the new exhibits at the Wing History Museum.  I hope to see you there!

Revisions to the WFA Bylaws will be presented for a vote by the membership, at the annual membership meeting.  Members have already received a separate mailing about this.

The WFA Board held a meeting on March 9, 2024.  As usual it was a full agenda and I appreciate all of the time our volunteer board members give to serving the family in so many ways.

PLEASE NOTE: We are still in need of a new Treasurer for the WFA.

One final note is that this is my last President’s newsletter.  I have decided to not run for re-election.  This was a very difficult decision to make and I thank all of the Wing family cousins for your support during my role as President these past two years.  I will continue to support this great family for years to come.
